Odzala Kokoua National Park
In the seemingly endless Congo Basin is a tropical rainforest so vast that it is considered the second lung of the earth after the Amazon. At the heart of this deep, dark and dense natural paradise, guests will find the nearly 1'350'000 ha Odzala Kokoua National Park, a place of remarkable biodiversity and home to the Western Lowland Gorilla. The national park is located in the remote northwest of the Republic of Congo and, with a founding year of 1935, is one of the oldest national parks in Africa. It consists of pristine rainforests, savannahs, rivers and streams and is an integral part of the Congo Basin and the TRIDOM Transfrontier Park (which includes Gabon, Congo and Cameroon). Today, the Odzala Discovery Camps – Ngaga Camp, Lango Camp and Mboko Camp – enjoy great popularity among those who want to experience one of the world's last intact ecosystems.
