Pico Cão Grande

Pico Cão Grande, or as the translation would be Great Dog Peak, is a towering needle-shaped volcanic plug peak, located on the São Tomé Island in Obo National Park. It is in the central part of the park and among the most well-known places. The total height of this extinct volcano is over 663 meters. It rises dramatically over the surrounding terrain and is surrounded by lush green forest, mosses and evergreens. This is one of the most interesting places to visit if you spend time on São Tomé Island. (Picture © Philippe Bourachot)
